Run Across Australia

This project crossed some of the most remote and demanding environments in Australia, as Jason Williamson attempted a 4,000 km run from Perth to Sydney.

Core Adventures was responsible for full expedition planning and management, including route design, logistics, crew coordination, ground support, and nutrition strategy. Every operational detail was planned and managed to allow the athlete to focus solely on performance and execution across extreme distance and conditions.

Operating across the Nullarbor and other remote stretches, the expedition required precise planning around limited resupply, extreme heat, and complete isolation. Daily execution was built around a moving support system, meeting the athlete every 8–12 km to manage fueling, hydration, and physical condition.

The success of the project relied on consistency, adaptability, and decision-making under pressure — ensuring forward progress was maintained safely across one of the most demanding endurance environments in the world

Leading a team of volunteers and coordinating checkpoints across the route, the event was delivered safely and efficiently — reinforcing Core Adventures’ ability to take ownership in high-pressure situations.

COMMUNITY TRAVERSE

When Ourea Events unexpectedly ceased operations less than two weeks before the Northern Traverse, a large community of runners were left without an event.

In response to overwhelming demand from the community, Core Adventures stepped in immediately to design, structure, and deliver a safe, fully supported alternative — the Community Traverse.

Planned and executed in under 14 days, this project became a powerful demonstration of rapid-response expedition planning under pressure.

malin to mizen

This1000km world record attempt ran from Malin Head, Ireland’s most northern point, to Mizen Head at its southern tip, through the center of the country in challenging winter conditions.

Core Adventures planned, managed, and directed this World Record attempt for Chris Connolly, overseeing route planning, team assembly, logistics, and operational delivery. The project was executed with full documentation and verification in line with Guinness World Records requirements.

Operating through winter conditions across the full length of Ireland, the project demanded constant adaptability, real-time decision making, and precise coordination between crew, checkpoints, and support vehicles.

The successful delivery of this record attempt reinforces Core Adventures’ ability to manage complex, high-stakes endurance projects from concept through to verified completion.

grand paradiso

This alpine expedition saw the successful ascent of Gran Paradiso (4,061 m), Italy’s highest fully Italian peak, undertaken with clients Ben Cleary and Martin Chapman in demanding high-altitude and glaciated terrain.

Core Adventures planned and led the expedition, managing acclimatisation strategy, route selection, technical preparation, equipment systems, and on-mountain leadership. The project required careful altitude management, glacier travel, and precise decision-making in rapidly changing alpine conditions.

Moving through glaciated terrain and exposed ridgelines, the expedition required constant awareness, rope management, and clear decision-making as conditions evolved.

The success of the climb reflects Core Adventures’ ability to lead safely and effectively in technical mountain environments, where preparation, experience, and judgement are critical.

mera peak

This expedition reached the summit of Mera Peak (6,476 m), Nepal’s highest trekking peak, following a structured acclimatisation approach through the remote Hinku Valley.

The journey involved a multi-day ascent, trekking tea house to tea house before progressing onto glaciated terrain for the final summit push in extreme altitude conditions.

Operating above 6,000 m required careful pacing, resilience, and awareness of altitude exposure, with each stage of the climb reinforcing the importance of preparation and decision-making in high-altitude environments.

This experience contributes to Core Adventures’ foundation in understanding and operating within remote, high-consequence mountain environments.
